Benefit Elections - Combined page

Use this page of the Benefit Elections wizard to specify the election information that applies to both the employee and their dependents.

Note: This page only displays if you selected One Choice Employee with Dependents on the Benefit Elections - General page.
This page does not apply to a savings plan.

Item Description

Election Requirement

(Required) Select one of the following choices for the type of election options to cover the employee and dependents for this benefit plan:

  • No Election Options: The employee and dependents are covered by the plan but there are no additional amounts or variables that would change the cost.
  • Choose Election Codes: The employee must select from a set of election codes.
    You then select the Election Codes that the employee can choose.
  • Amount Entry Only: The employee must enter an amount.
    You then select either Amount (to require the employee to enter a flat amount) or Percent (to require the employee to enter the percent of their pay).
  • atch to Rate Table: The employee must select from a set of election codes that are matched with a row in a rate table.
    You then select the name of the rate table. When you click Next , the wizard takes you to the Benefit Elections - Rate Table page, where you match up the election code with the correct row in the rate table.
    (You can only select this choice if there are rate tables associated with the plan.)

Election Description

(Required) Type a description (no more than 30 characters) for this election.

This description displays to the employee on the Benefits page when they select their elections for this plan.

Store Election Value In

If you selected Choose Election Codes, select one of the following options for where you want to store the value you entered on the Election Codes page.

  • None: The election value is not stored.
  • Other Calculated Amount: The election value must be an amount that is ten characters or less with 2 decimal places.
  • Coverage Type: The election value must be 14 characters or less.
  • Coverage Amount: The election value must be an amount that is seven characters or less (with no decimals).
  • User Defined 1, 2, 3 and 4: The election value must be ten characters or less.

Note: This item is not available for a savings plan. For savings plans, election values are always stored as an amount or percent (Be.b_401eamt or Be.b_401epct in HRMS Employee Self Service's Employee Benefit table.

Select this check box if the employee must enter data during enrollment.

If you selected Choose Election Codes or Match to Rate Table for the Election Requirement, select the check boxes for all election codes that you want available for employees to select for this plan. The table includes all the election codes set up that relate to the benefit plan.

Select the Dependent Election check box if a dependent selection is required for enrollment in the plan when an election code is selected.

 

After making selections for the items on this page, click Next to go to the next page of the wizard:
