Setting up election codes

Election codes are used to describe choices an employee can make for a particular benefit plan. Election codes are assigned to benefit plans during Benefit Elections Setup.

This election description is displayed on the employee's benefit page during enrollment.

The Election Codes page contains a table showing the following information about each of the benefit election codes:

  • The election code
  • The type of benefit plan associated with this code
  • The value associated with the election

Note: If election codes are in use by a current open enrollment or life event—or are used but not yet posted to Sage HRMS, changing them could invalidate enrollments in process or current enrollments not yet posted to Sage HRMS.

To add or change a benefit election code

  1. On the Administrator menu, select Benefit Setup > Election Codes.
  2. The table on the Election Codes page shows all election codes set up for your benefit plans.

Note: If you want to delete an election code, click (the Delete icon) and confirm that you want to delete it. However, you cannot delete an election code that has one or more benefit elections assigned to it.

  3. On the Election Codes detail page, enter or change information about the election code. Details...

  4. Click Save.
