About EFT Combine
Use the EFT Combine setup window to combine multiple EFT files within one company or among several companies into a single file. If you plan to combine EFT files from several companies, make sure you define the same type of bank information (when you use the EFT Options setup window) for all companies.
You can use the EFT Combine setup window to:
- Set a company to act as an Administrator (that is, the company from where you will search for and combine the EFT files).
- Create a list of companies you want to include in your search for EFT files to combine.
Note: If you plan to combine EFT files within just one company, you still need to complete the setup. You would create a list for the one company.
After you have generated multiple EFT files, you can use the Combine EFT File task
You must have EFT security rights in order to set up and edit the EFT combine files function.
To Set a Company as Administrator for EFT Combine
- From Payroll Setup, choose EFT Combine.
- If you open the window from a company that is not set as an administrator and is not on any other administrator’s list, the Administer Combined Files from this Database option is enabled but not selected.
- If you open the window from a company that is already set as an administrator for the EFT combine feature, the Administer Combined Files from this Database option is selected and the window shows a list of companies whose files you can include when you search for EFT files to combine.
- If you open the window from a company that is not an administrator for the EFT combine feature, but it displays on a list administered by another company, the Administer Combined Files from this Database option is not selected and not available. A message displays below the check box to tell you which company administers the combine feature for this company. If you want to make changes, you must open the window from the company that administers the combine feature.
- To make this company an administrator for the EFT combine feature, select the check box. A table appears, displaying the current company.
- If you plan to combine files within only this company, then leave the company in the table. Otherwise, add the other companies that are to be administered from this company
- Highlight a company on the list.
- Press Insert on the keyboard.
- Type the Database ID for the company you want to add or use the Finder to locate it. The company name displays automatically in the next column.
- On the list, highlight the company you want to remove.
- To remove Administrator's status from a company, the EFT Combine setup window must first be opened from the Administrator company, and then the Administer Combined Files from this Database option must be unchecked.
- Press Delete on the keyboard.
- Click .
- EFT Combine is not available for IAT (International ACH Transactions) EFT nor for Child Support EFT.
- If a company is setup as Administrator, that company cannot be removed from the list of companies on the EFT Combine window.
- A company cannot be on more than one Combine Administrator’s list. Before adding a company to a new list, you must delete it from any other lists.
