Employee's Current Pay page
Use this page to enter information about an employee's pay rate, pay frequency, annual pay, and performance reviews.
Tabs on the employee's Current Pay page
The items marked with an asterisk (*) are closely related. When you change one of these items, the others are automatically recalculated.

Description |

Pay Effective |
Enter the date the current pay became effective. This date is also a new hire's start date. |
Unit Pay Rate* |
Enter the amount the employee earns for each unit worked. This amount cannot exceed 100,000.00. Note: If you are using Sage HRMS Payroll, updating this field will not update information on Payroll Wage/Rate fields. |
Pay Period Salary* |
Enter the total amount the employee earns for each pay period. Note: If you are using Sage HRMS Payroll, updating this field will not update information on Payroll Wage/Rate fields. |
Hours/Units |
Enter the normal number of hours worked per payroll period. If the employee is paid by piece or by job, this reflects the average number of units per payroll period. |
Pay Frequency |
Select the payroll frequency for this employee. |
Annual Pay* |
Displays the employee's annual pay, which Sage HRMS calculates using the information on this tab. |
Payroll Status |
Select the employee’s payroll status: Active, Inactive, or Terminated. Note: This item only displays if you are using Sage HRMS Payroll. If the status is Active, the employee status in Sage HRMS Payroll is also active. This enables payroll processing after an employee is terminated. |
Shift |
Select the shift the employee works. Note: This item does not apply if you are using Sage HRMS Payroll. Instead, enter the shift information on the Employee Payroll page. |
Shift Premium (%) |
If you selected a shift that has a premium, Sage HRMS displays the shift premium percentage. Note: This item does not apply if you are using Sage HRMS Payroll. Instead, enter the shift information on the Employee Payroll page. |
Compa-ratio |
Displays the compa-ratio, which Sage HRMS calculates. The compa-ratio is the employee’s percent-of-midpoint
within a salary range. The formula for calculating compa-ratio is: |
Bonus Amount |
Enter the bonus amount the employee receives, if applicable. |

Displays the pay effective date (shown on the Pay and Performance tab of the Job History page). |
Amount |
Displays the calculated dollar amount of the last pay increase. |
Percent |
Displays the calculated percentage of the last pay increase. |
Next Pay Review |
Enter the date scheduled for the employee's next pay review. |
Performance Review |
Enter the date of the employee's last performance review. |
Rating |
Select the rating the employee received at the last performance review. |
Next Review |
Enter the date scheduled for the employee’s next performance review. |
Change Effective |
Enter the date when the pay change is effective. |
Reason |
Select the reason for the pay change. Notes:

This tab has four items that your system administrator may have customized to record additional information about an employee's current pay.

Job Code |
Displays the job code (from the Current Job page). |
Salary Grade |
Displays the salary grade (from the Current Job page). |
Job Start Date |
Displays the job start date (from the Current Job page). |
Job Service |
Displays the employee's length of service in months. This number is updated by running the Mass Update Step Rate Service process, which calculates job service using the employee's job start date and the job service date. If you make a manual change to Job Service

Job Service Date |
Displays the effective date that was used during the Mass Update Step Rate Service process to calculate job service. |
Step |
Displays the salary grade level attained by the employee. The value is updated by running Mass Update Pay Step Rate process, which calculates the step using the employee's job service and salary grade information. If you make a manual change to Step
