  • Enter the current federal minimum wage for use in payroll calculations.
  • Indicate for how many calendar years you want to keep payroll history.
  • Specify whether to display fractional start and stop times on timecards as minutes or hundredths of an hour.
  • Set the number of decimal places to display in hourly rates.
  • Enter the maximum number of part-time hours per year.
  • A default bank or default check stock that will display automatically on the Print/Post Checks window.
  • Use the original check date when reversing paychecks.
  • Choose whether or not to print employees’ social security numbers/ social insurance numbers on paychecks.

Note: SSN/SIN numbers printed on checks are masked, so only the last part of the number appears (for example, ***-**-1234***-***-123).

  • Specify the default number of days after which to follow up on employee comments.

You would usually change these options only after Year-End.

Important to Note

Changing decimal places in hourly rates

You can change the number of decimal places to any number from 2 to 5 at any time. The only effect of changing the number of decimal places is that you then you see a different number of decimal places in hourly rates in the Payroll windows and on printed reports.

Changing timecard start time and stop time fractional hours

You can change the mode (minutes or hundredths) for entering fractional start and stop times on timecards only if no active timecards exist in the system.
