Using the Check Inquiry Window

The Check Inquiry window shows the details for a particular payroll check.

You can open the Check Inquiry window from:

  • Payroll > Tasks.
  • The Check List window.
  • The Employee Activity page (in the Employee Payroll window).
  • The Export G/L Batch File window which can be used to create Journal Entries, in Payroll > Tasks.
  • The G/L Journal Entry window .

To inquire on a paycheck

  1. From the Payroll > Tasks list, choose Check Inquiry.
  2. In the Employee Check field, type the employee number, or use the navigation buttons or the Finder to select it.
  3. Use the Period End Date and Entry Sequence fields to further define your search.
  4. The details of the check display on the tabs of the window.

To use a detail window (instead of the table) to display the details of an item, highlight the item on the list, and then press F9.

Fields related to overtime

Include in Regular Rate FLSA Calculation

If this option is selected, then it was selected on the Timecard or the Employee Payroll window. On a manual payroll check the option is not selected.

Straight Time Earnings

The Straight Time Earnings field only displays if one of the Regular RateFLSA overtime calculation methods was used to calculate overtime. It shows the straight time earnings for this detail line. For example, if this was an hourly rate with 8 hours at $8.00 per hour, the straight time earnings would be $64.00.

Overtime Rate Multiplier

If the earning used a Regular Rate FLSA — Salary Fluctuating Hours method, the Overtime Rate Multiplier field displays .50000. Otherwise, the field shows the value of the overtime rate multiplier from the overtime schedule used for this overtime detail line.
