Using Templates

A template is a set of parameters or selected variables used for importing or exporting ASCII files. It might help to think of a template as a map of the data fields which will be used when moving data through Sage HRMS Link. The template:

Defines which fields in a database are included in the transfer into or out of Sage HRMS Link.
Includes the properties for each field, including the field name, field type (such as character or date), field length, number of decimal places (if the field is numeric), and the order of the fields.

You can create, modify, and delete as many templates as necessary in order to work with Sage HRMS Link in your environment.
