Using Employee Earnings Distribution

About Distribute Earnings

Distribute Earnings is a process available from the Process Payroll map under the Payroll > Tasks navigation pane in Sage HRMS.

This process allows you to create new timecards with individual entries based upon the contents of the Employee Earnings Distribution window. These new timecards are not created until you click the Process button in the Distribute Earnings window, which allows you to create and update earnings distributions and employee timecards up until you run this process. Any wages on the timecards associated with the earnings defined in Distribute Earnings will be split automatically between the expense accounts and general ledger segments you have assigned.

The process creates new timecards for employees with assigned earnings distributions. The pre-existing timecard will be inactivated rather than deleted, allowing you to compare the two time cards to verify that the employee's earnings and deductions are accurate.

Important! Be sure to run this process before you calculate payroll.
