Loading a report to the server

A report (.rpt file) is generated by first creating a view with View Builder and then specifying the View URL as the data source for SAP Crystal Reports. Because the view was built with View Builder and specific roles were assigned to that report, the Crystal report is then only accessible by individuals in those assigned roles, thus adding security to the reports.

This page enables a user in the View Creator role to load a report created with SAP Crystal Reports to the HRMS Employee Self Service server so it is available in the Report Library. Individuals who are in the security roles that are assigned to the report can then select and view a report from the library.

Before you begin

• Create a view using View Builder. For report security, make sure you assign the correct roles to the report.
• Create a Crystal Report from the view, design it to your specifications, and save it.

To load a report to the server

1. Log on to HRMS Employee Self Service as the Master User or a user in the View Creator role.
2. On the Reports menu, select Report Library > Load Report to Server.

3. The table on the Load Report to Server page shows the title and description of the report files that were already uploaded.

   To upload another report file, click New.

4. On the Load Report to Server detail page:

   1. For Upload File, click Browse, find and select the SAP Crystal Reports report file (which has the .rpt extension), and click Open. The file name is then displayed.
   2. Type the Title to display for the report.
   3. (Optional) Type a Description for the report.
   4. In the Available To area, select the check boxes for the roles (Employee, Executive Viewer, Manager, or a custom role) that you want to have access to the report.
   5. Click Save.

To view the report, go to the Report Library and select the report.
