Preview View page
To open this page, on the Edit View page, click Preview.
Use this page to preview the View output based on another employee's security rights. For example, you create a View then want to preview the output as your manager, James Griffin will see it. This enables you to verify that the View you created is displaying the correct data, that James will have access to the requested data, and that James will not be see any extraneous data.
When you click Preview, HRMS Employee Self Service searches for employees assigned the same access level as the View (Employee, Manager, or Executive Viewer). HRMS Employee Self Service further refines the search by finding only employees in the company you are logged in to.
To find an employee
- Select the filter you want to search by in the Search field; Employee Last Name, Employee ID, Job Title, or Employer.
- Depending on your selection in the Search field, in the for field:
- Enter the last name of the employee to sort the employees by the first letter of the employee's last name. This is useful if you do not know the ID number or employer of the employee.
- Enter the ID number of the employee. HRMS Employee Self Service automatically sorts the employees according to the first number (or letter) you enter to help you locate the employee.
- Enter the job title of the employee to sort the employees by job title.
- Enter the employer name to sort the employees by employer.
- Click Go to initiate the search.
- Review the list in the Employees column and click a name to display the View output as the selected employee. Optionally, click the arrows next to the ID, Employee, Job Title, Employer, or Access Level columns to change the sort order of the lists.
Note: If you added or removed fields from the View on the Select Fields page, you must click Save then reopen the View to show the changes in the View preview.
