Life Events - Event page

Use this first page of the Life Event setup wizard to specify general information about the life event, including the description and type.

Item Description

Event

Type text (no more than 50 characters) to clearly describe this life event.

This description will be displayed on each page as the employee proceeds through the life event entry process.

This text is also displayed for Reason for Change in Sage HRMS on the employee's Insurance/Savings Benefits detail pages.

Example: Adoption of a child

Event Type

Select the type of event, which may be a change to Marital Status, Dependent Status, Address Change, Other Event.

Days From Event

Type the number of days from the date of the event that the employee is able to change their benefit elections.

Example: If Days From Event is set to 30 and the employee had a child on June 15, the employee has until July 15 to make benefit changes.

check box Allow Late Submissions

Select the check box to allow employees to submit this type of life event and change their benefit elections later.

Benefits Effective Date

Select when the benefit changes will be effective—the actual event date of the event or the first day of the month following the event date.

Example: If the employee had a child on June 15, benefits for that child could take effect on June 15 or July 1.
