Shift Differential Codes Setup Field List
For help with the fields in the Shift Differential Codes setup window, select from the fields listed below.
A code of up to six characters identifies each shift differential schedule. The shift differential schedule code assigned to an employee displays as the default when you enter a timecard; you can override the default.
Descriptions can be up to 60 characters long. Type in a description that you will be able to recognize later (like "Machinists Second Shift").
Type the rate by which the regular hourly rate should be adjusted for each shift.
For example, enter 1.55 as the rate to indicate that employees working on shift 2 are paid $1.55 per hour, in addition to their regular hourly pay; enter 2.65 as the rate for shift 3 to pay employees on shift 3 an additional 2.65 an hour, and so on.
Select this check box to make a shift differential schedule inactive (select the check box or tab to it, then press the Spacebar).
When you select this option, the program inserts the date automatically.
You would make a shift differential schedule inactive when you intend to delete the schedule and do not want to assign it to any more employees. (You cannot assign inactive shift differential schedules to employee records.)
You can change an inactive schedule back to active by clearing the check box at any time.
