G/L Account Structures Field List
For help with the fields in the G/L Account Structures setup window, select from the field names below.
This is a code of up to 6 letters or numbers that identifies which account segments are used in a particular account number, and the order of the account segments. Use a code that identifies the use of the structure. For example, a structure for account numbers with only an account segment could be called ADMIN or COMPANY.
You can enter a description of up to 60 characters. Try to make this show the structure's use. For example: "Regional admin. accounts" or "Departmentalized accounts."
After filling in the Segment Code and Description fields, you select segments from the left-hand panel to include in the structure. The order you select the segments indicates the order they display in the account number. If you include a segment you do not want, highlight it, and then click the Exclude button.
This panel lists all the segments for account numbers that use this account structure. The order of segments is the order they'll display in the account numbers. If you include a segment you don't want, highlight it, then click the Exclude button.
To use the structure code you are defining as your default structure code, select this option.
