About Work Classification Codes Setup

On the Work Classification Codes setup window, you can enter the occupational classifications for workers.

You can then customize reports to report earnings and deductions based on the work classifications of your employees.

You may need to record this information for government contracts and where legislation dictates a fair wage for certain types of employment, such as in the construction industry.

To Add Work Classification Codes

  1. In Payroll Setup, open the Work Classification Codes window.
  2. Enter the Work Classification Code (up to 6 characters) and the Description (up to 60 characters).

    When you enter this information, the system automatically enters the current date in the Last Maintained field.

  3. Add any comments you want to include.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 for each work classification code you need to add.

    When you set up employees you can select the appropriate work classification for each employee from the list of work classifications you set up here.

  6. Click Save.

To Delete Work Classification Codes

  1. In Payroll Setup, open the Work Classification Codes window.
  2. Type in the Work Classification Code you want to delete or use the finder to select it.

    You can delete any work classification code as long as it is not assigned to any employees.

  3. Click Delete.
  4. Click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the code.
