Providing Access to All Timecard Functions
You must set up a User ID for at least one employee to have access to all timecard functions, such as:
- Entering and approving the employee timecards.
- Printing the Employee Timecards report.
- Transferring employee timecards to the detailed Payroll timecards for processing by the Calculate Payroll function.
- Editing the detailed Payroll Timecard if necessary.
If your company is using Employee Level Security for Payroll, users have access only to the employees that have been assigned to them. This can be either all employees or the employees on their main selection list. When setting up User IDs for access to all timecard functions, be sure to take the users' access to employees into consideration.
To set up the User ID for this type of employee:
- In Administrative Services, open the Users window, and create a User ID with the account type set to User.
- Define the access rights for that User ID:
- On the Security Groups window, set up a Group ID for Payroll that grants access to Timecard Entry. You can also grant access to other Payroll functions to this Group ID, if needed.
- On the User Authorizations window, assign the Group ID to the User ID.
The employee who signs on to Sage HRMS Payroll using this type of User ID will have access to the timecards of all employees assigned to them and the detailed Payroll timecard, as well as have the ability to approve and transfer employee timecards.
