Set Benefit Codes to Deduction Codes in ADP
Sage HRMS Link provides the ability to export benefit contributions to ADP payroll deductions. It uses translation tables to relate benefit plans to corresponding deduction codes. When you start Sage HRMS Link, it automatically populates the Benefit Insurance Codes and Benefit Savings Codes translation tables. Each table lists the Sage HRMS code and an equivalent ADP code.
- In order for benefit amounts to be correctly exported to ADP, you must change the ADP code to the benefit’s equivalent deduction code.
Example Basic Life Insurance in Sage HRMS might be equivalent to Deduction Code 03 in ADP. In this case, you would change the ADP code for Basic Life Insurance to 03.
- There might be a situation
when more than one benefit links to only one ADP deduction.
Example An employee has a medical benefit plan and a separate vision plan. In ADP, these two benefit plans link to one ADP deduction code. In this case, set the ADP codes for both plans to the one ADP deduction code. When you export the data, Sage HRMS Link sums the two benefit contributions and exports one amount to the ADP deduction code.
- More than one benefit
links to only one ADP deduction.
Example Your employer provides two different medical plans, MED1 and MED2. Some employees have MED1 and other employees have MED2. ADP, however, has only one deduction code, 04, for both of these plans. In this case, set the ADP codes for both plans to 04. When you export data, benefit contributions for both MED1 and MED2 link to deduction code 04.
