Example: Design a Custom Action

You have two custom pages called Company Car and Company Property. You want to combine these two pages into a new action in Sage HRMS called Assigning Company Property.

  1. Select Setup > System > Customize Menu.
  2. From the Product field drop-down list, select HR.
  3. From the Activity field drop-down list, select Action.
  4. From the Action drop-down list, select All. All HR actions appear on the right.
  5. Click Add. The Customize Actions dialog box opens.
    1. In the Action field, enter Assigning Company Property.
    2. In the Action Type field, select Employee from the drop-down list.
    3. Leave the Status Bar Message field blank so that the status bar message will default to the name of the action.
    4. Click OK to save your changes and close the dialog box.
  6. From the Customize Sage Abra Menu dialog box, select Assigning Company Property from the Actions drop-down list. The Find Employee step is automatically added to the Steps list.
  7. Click Add. The Customize Steps dialog box opens.
    1. Select Company Car from the Step drop-down list.
    2. Select the Required Step check box.
    3. Click OK to save your changes and close the dialog box. The Company Car step appears in the Steps list.
  8. Click Add. The Customize Steps dialog box opens.
    1. Select Company Property from the Step drop-down list.
    2. Select the Required Step check box.
    3. Click OK to save your changes and close the dialog box.
  9. The Company Property step appears in the Steps list.
  10. To rearrange the order of the steps, click the button next to a step and drag it to the new location.
  11. When done, click OK to save your changes.
