Setting Template Defaults

  1. Click the Template Defaults  button on the Template Setup page.
  2. From the Employer drop-down list, select the employer you are importing to or exporting from.
  3. If you have selected a specific employer, only those employees assigned to the selected employer will be exported. If you have selected Enterprise, all employees will be exported.
  4. From the Date Format drop-down list, select the date format in which the date fields are to be imported.
  5. If you are exporting dates to a date format that exceeds eight characters, you must increase your template date field lengths or your data will be truncated.
  6. In the Import/Export File section, identify the file that will be imported or exported. You can enter a file name or click the File Selection arrow to locate it.
  7. If the file to import/export resides in the same directory as Sage HRMS Link, Sage HRMS Link only requires the file name and extension, such as TSTFILE.TXT. Otherwise, you must specify the disk drive, full path name, file name, and extension.
  8. From the File Type drop-down list, select one of the four ASCII file types: comma-delimited, space-delimited, tab-delimited, or fixed-length.
  9. From the Import/Export Record Selection list, select the records you want to import into or export from Sage HRMS Link. If you do not complete this section, Sage HRMS Link selects all the records when you perform the import or export.
  10. If you want to export Sage HRMS records that have changed since a specific date, enter that date in the Changed Since field. Link uses the P_CHADATE field in the Employee Personnel database to determine the last time a record was changed. This option is applicable only when exporting Sage HRMS, Sage HRMS Payroll, Time Off or Train data.
  11. To further limit the records imported or exported, select records that meet your own selection criteria. Click the Expression Builder button to create the expression.
  12. If you are importing job or salary information (as defined on the Current Job and Current Pay pages) into Sage HRMS databases, you can import the effective dates and valid reason codes from the ASCII file. Choose to import the effective dates and reason codes from the file or enter your own effective date and reason code.
