Note: You only need to run this process if you are using salary grade steps and job service for your employees. Click here to read about salary grade steps, step rates, and job service.
The Mass Update Step Rate Service process is run in conjunction with the Mass Update Pay Step Rate process. These two processes enable you to update your employees' months of service in their job and initiate a pay increase according to the level (step) they have attained in the salary grade for their job.
Run the processes in the following order:
Field Label | Field Description |
---|---|
Employer |
Select Enterprise or the individual employer to be affected by the change. Select Multiple if you need to select more than one employer. |
Organization Levels 1-5 |
The organization level that contains the employees whose job service you want to update. If you leave an organization level field blank, all the organizations within that level will be included in the step rate service update. |
Changed Since |
Enables you to change only employees whose pay step rates have changed since a specified date. |
Active |
Selects active employees. |
LOA |
Selects employees on leave of absence. |
Terminated |
Selects terminated employees. |
Employee |
Selects a specific employee or group. Read the Selecting Specific Employees Help topic for more information |
Custom Criteria |
Additional selection criteria, entered from the Criteria Code Table, the Criteria Builder, or the FoxPro Expression Builder. These features allow you to define criteria beyond the standard selection criteria provided by the this process. Read the Defining your own Selection Criteria Help topic for more information. |
Exempt |
Selects exempt or nonexempt employees. |
Overtime Eligible |
Selects employees by whether or not they are eligible to work overtime. |
Note: Regardless of the date you use, the process will never decrease an employee's job service amount. For example, if you use a date in the past that would cause job service to decrease, the process ignores the date entered and uses the current system date instead.
