Using HRMS Employee Self Service

Creating a new logon

On the Logon page, click First-Time User Register Here.
On the Create New Logon page:
1. Enter the requested information.
2. If included by your administrator, select a Security Question, and then type the Security Answer.
3. Click Save.
On the second Create New Logon page:
1. Enter the Username that you want to use.
2. Enter the password that you want to use.
3. Enter your password again to confirm it.
4. Click Save.

Changing or resetting your password

On the Logon page, click Username and Password Help.
Enter the requested information, which may include the answer to the security question.
Click Save.
If you are a member of multiple companies, select the company for this request for Company, and then click Save.
Type the new password for Password and for Confirm Password.
Click Save.

Changing your logon credentials

Log on with your current logon credentials.
On the Employee menu, select Personal > Change Logon.
On the Change Logon page, click (the Edit icon) in the upper-right of the page.
Change your username, password, and/or security question and answer.
Click Save.

The next time you want to access HRMS Employee Self Service, you must use these new logon credentials.

Opening pages

Your page menus (on the left side of your screen) include all pages to which you have access.

Menu items with a right arrow expand to the right when you move the pointer over them to show all pages related to the top menu item. Move your pointer down to the page you want to open and select (left-click) the page.

If a menu item does not have a right arrow, for example: button with "Time Off" , the page opens immediately when you select it.

Collapsing/expanding menus

Click the Menu heading to open or close the menu. Note that when you log on, the Employee menu is always expanded so you can see all the menu items.

Buttons on a page
Button	Name	Description
	Save	Saves the information you added or changed on a page. See also Add information and Edit information.
	Reset	Resets changes you made on a page.
	Go	Starts a search.
	Exit	(Available for open enrollment and life events). Submits your completed enrollment selections for approval.
	Done	Closes the open enrollment and life event pages.
Update cost	Update Cost	(Available for open enrollment and life events) Recalculates your Total Employee Cost (what your deduction will be for your benefits). For insurance plans, the cost is based on the benefit plan frequency. For savings plans, the cost is based on your pay frequency.
	New	Opens a page so you can add information.
	Edit	Opens an edit page so you can make changes.
	Delete	Removes the item from the list after you confirm the deletion.
	Preview	Opens a page in a separate preview window. You can print the page from the preview window.
	Expand/ Collapse	Opens or closes a list of records or a detail record.
	Sort	Changes the sort order of a column. Changes an ascending sort to descending; changes a descending sort to ascending.
	Email	(Available with an item that contains an email address) Click to send an email to the address. Your PC email program opens and the address displays in for To.

Items

Types of items on a page
Item	Name	Description
	Selection List	Use to add choose an selection from a list of selections. Click the down arrow to open the list, then click a selection to choose it.
	Date item	Use to add a date. You can either type a specific date or click the calendar and select a date.
	Text item	Use to add free-form text. In most cases, there is a limit to the number of characters you can enter. The system stops accepting characters when you reach the limit. Depending on the kind of information you are entering, some text fields accept only numbers or only letters.
	Memo item	Use to add a note or memo on a page. For example, when you submit a time off request, you can include a note to your manager.
	Required item	An asterisk indicates a required item. If you do not enter information in a required item and try to save, you will see a reminder at the top of the page and the asterisk turns red to alert you which information is required.

Navigation aids

Warning! When navigating in HRMS Employee Self Service, do not click your Internet browser's Forward and Back buttons to navigate. You must use the navigation buttons on the HRMS Employee Self Service page.

Back to List	Back to List	When you have a detail page open, click this to return to the summary page from which you originally selected the detail item. The summary page retains the original search criteria and results list so you can select another item.
1 2 3 4	Paging	After a search, if the number of entries found exceeds the display area on the page, click a page number hyperlink on the bottom of the page to navigate through the entries by page.
	Back/Forward	Click to move back and forward through a list.
	Previous/Next	(Available for open enrollment and life events) Click to move back to the previous page or move forward to the next page.
Address Benefit Provider	More Information	Click these hyperlinks to navigate to other pages that are related to the current page.
Change Pending	Change Pending	This link displays at the top of a page if you submitted a change to the page but it has not been approved yet. Click this link to go to the Message Center where you can review the submitted change in the Personal Requests section. After the change is approved, you can mark it as read and remove it.

Adding information

If you have permission to add a new item to a table:

Click (at the top of the page).
On the detail page, fill in the information for the new item. Make sure you enter information in all required fields.
Click Save.

If Changes will require Approval is displayed at the top of the page, you do not see the added information until the page is approved.

Editing information

If you have permission to edit the information on a page:

Click . If you are working on a list page (such as Skills), find the item to edit and click .
Make your changes to the information.
Click Save.

If Changes will require Approval is displayed at the top of the page, you do not see the edited information until the page is approved.

Deleting information

If you have permission to delete an item from a table:

In the table, find the item you want to delete and click (the Delete icon) at the end of the row.
A confirmation message displays. If you are sure you want to delete the item, click OK.

Otherwise, click Cancel to return to the page without deleting the item.
