About the Pay Tab

Use this tab of the Employee Payroll page to define:

  • Pay Frequency
  • If the employee is a Part-time Worker
  • Regular Hours per Period, Day, or Week
  • Minimum Wage
  • Overtime Calculation settings
  • And the Earnings and Deductions rates (or amount or percent), applicable dates, hours, annual/lifetime maximums, and accumulators

Settings on the Pay Tab

If the value of the Overtime Calculation field is set to Regular Rte or FLSA-Salary Fixed Hours, the Regular Hours per Week setting becomes dependent on the Pay Frequency setting. For example:

  • If Pay Frequency is Weekly, the Overtime Calculation is set to the value of the Regular Hours per Period field.
  • If Pay Frequency is Biweekly, the Overtime Calculation is set to the Regular Hours per Period divided by 2.
  • If Pay Frequency is Monthly, the Overtime Calculation is set to the Regular Hours per Period divided by 4.335.
  • If Pay Frequency is Semimonthly, the Overtime Calculation is set to the Regular Hours per Period divided by 2.168.

If the value of the Overtime Calculation field is set to any other options, the Regular Hours per Week will be blank.

Full-time or Part-time Employment Status

You can select HRMS Employee Type codes that represent the part-time status. If, in Sage HRMS on the Current Job >  Job page, the Employee Type field is Part-Time Status for an employee, the Part-Time Worker check box in Payroll is selected.

Overtime Calculation

The Overtime Calculation setting can be selected from four User-Defined Pay Fields. The Overtime Calculation FLSA-Salary Fluctuating (UP), Regular Rate-Salary Fluctuating (CP) option can only be assigned to an employee with a weekly pay frequency. If the employee pay frequency is other than Weekly, a warning appears when you Open Payroll.
