Changing an employee's job and pay
Use the Change Pay task to record the change in pay as a result of the employee's performance review.
To change an employee's pay and record a performance review:
- Select Employees > Tasks > Change Pay.
- From the table of employees, select the employee whose pay you want to change, and then click .

On the Pay Change tab of the Pay and Performance Review page:
- Enter the Pay Change Amount or the Percent Change. Sage HRMS recalculates the pay rate and salary.
- Make any other needed changes.
- Click the Additional Review Information tab, enter the Pay Effective date, and make any other needed changes.
- If your system administrator set up user-defined items, click the User Defined tab and enter the appropriate information.
- When you are finished, click to save your changes.
- If you see a message asking about job history, click or .
Tabs on the Pay and Performance Review page
The items marked with an asterisk (*) are closely related. When you change one of these items, the others are automatically recalculated.

Description |

Unit Pay Rate* |
Enter the amount the employee earns for each unit worked. This amount cannot exceed 100,000.00. |
Pay Period Salary* |
Enter the total amount the employee earns for each pay period. |
Hours/Units |
Enter the normal number of hours worked per payroll period. If the employee is paid by piece or by job, this reflects the average number of units per payroll period. |
Pay Frequency |
Select the payroll frequency for this employee. |
Annual Pay* |
Displays the employee's annual pay, which Sage HRMS calculates using the information on this tab. |
Bonus Amount |
Enter the bonus amount the employee receives, if applicable. |
Pay Change Amount* |
Enter the amount of money that the employee's pay will change. Note: You can enter either a Change Amount or a Percent Change. When you change one item, Sage HRMS recalculates the other. |
Period |
Select the time period on which the pay change is based. Initially this is the same as the employee’s Pay Frequency. |
Percent Change* |
Enter the percentage that the employee's pay will change. |
Compa-ratio |
Displays the compa-ratio, which Sage HRMS calculates. The compa-ratio is the employee’s percent-of-midpoint
within a salary range. The formula for calculating compa-ratio is: |
Shift |
Select the shift the employee works. |
Shift Premium |
If you selected a shift that has a premium, Sage HRMS displays the shift premium percentage. |

Displays the effective date of the latest change to any current pay data. |
Reason |
Select the reason for this pay change. Note: If the reason code is not in the list, it may be that the code was set to inactive and the Show Inactive Codes indicator (on the Enterprise Setup page) is set to . |
