Modifying a Template

  1. From the Sage HRMS Link menu, select File > Modify Template to display a list of all the templates you have created.

Tip: Click the ID radio button to list the templates by template ID rather than by description.

  1. Double-click the template you want to modify. The Template Setup page opens.
  2. If you want, you can add a second database.

  3. If you want to add, edit, or delete fields, do the following:
  4. To delete a field, highlight the field and click Delete. Confirm the deletion. Sage Payroll Link automatically re-orders the remaining fields.
  5. To add a field, click Add. The Add Template Field dialog box opens. ClosedInsert the field where you want it in the template.

    1. From the Template Setup page, click Add. The Add Template Field dialog box opens.
    2. Add the Field Name, Field Type, Field Length, and Decimal Places.
    3. In the Field Order box, select the field order from the list. The system will automatically resequence the fields.

    Note: Give the new field the order number of the field you want it to precede. For example, if you want this new field to be inserted before the field in position 4, give the new field a field order of 4. The system will resequence the fields.

  6. To edit a field, click the More button in front of the field name. The Edit Template Field dialog box opens.
  7. Change the order of fields as necessary.
  8. Click OK to save your changes.
  9. If you need to modify the defaults for the template, click the Template Defaults arrow button on the Template Setup page.
  10. When you finish editing the template, click OK.
