You can access the Expression Builder by clicking the Expression Builder arrow button on the pages listed below.
In the Fields list are all field names of the database you selected in the Template Setup page. You can use this list to insert a field name in the Rule area, or you can write your own expression from scratch in the Rule area.
The fields available depend upon the database you have selected in the Select Field From area. You can use this list to insert a field name in the Rule area, or you can write your own expression from scratch in the Rule area.
If you selected a database other than Employee Personnel or Applicant Tracking Master in the Template Setup, you have, in effect, chosen two databases with which to work. For example, if you selected Employee Dependent as the Database, you have fields from both Employee Dependent and Employee Personnel available.
Example The alias for Employee Dependent, De, would appear in the Table field as the default and the fields from Employee Dependent would appear in the Fields list. To switch to the Employee Personnel file in the Expression Builder, select Pe, the alias for Employee Personnel, from the From Table drop-down list. The fields from the Employee Personnel file will now appear in the Fields list.
You can also access the Expression Builder by clicking the Criteria button on the following pages:
All fields in all database files are available in the Expression Builder, but the fields which are available for use in a rule at a specific time depend upon the pages with which you are working.
