Assigning administrator roles

Use the Assign Admin Roles page to assign one or more administrator roles and view builder roles to employees (such as the authority to approve requests, receive notifications, and create and use views). You also select the employer for which the employee has these roles.

To assign roles to an employee or change their roles

  1. Log on to HRMS Employee Self Service as the Master user.
  2. On the System Administrator menu, select Roles and Logon > Assign Admin Role.
  3. The Assign Admin Roles page includes a table of the employees who meet the search criteria. The table includes the employees' employers, their employee IDs, their administrative roles (if any), and their View Builder roles (if any).

Initially the criteria searches for employees with a Role of All Administrative or View Builder roles. If you have not yet assigned any employees to roles, the table is blank.

If the employee you want is not in the table, search for the employee you want by entering the search criteria and clicking Go.

  4. In the table, click the employee's name.
  5. On the Assign Admin Roles detail page:

    1. In the Role, View Builder, and Custom View Builder areas, select the check boxes for each role that you want to assign this employee.
    2. In the Employer area, select the check box for at least one employer. If you select more than one employer, the employee will have the same administrator role and view builder roles for all of the selected employers. Example:

You assign Donald Adams to the HR Admin and Benefit Admin roles and also select both the ABC and ZSI employers. Donald Adams will have HR and Benefit Admin responsibilities in both companies.

Note: A benefit administrator has access to all employers when they set up open enrollment and life events. Their role assignment to employers only applies for approval authority and receipt of notifications.

    3. Click Save to save your changes and return to the Assign Admin Roles page. The table will show your changes.
